Business leaders from the Greater Washington marketing, media and advertising industry, supported by the Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington, oversee a week dedicated to showcasing the creativity and magic of DC's communications industry and its role in “Making Big Things Happen.” 

What is Advertising Week DC?

The region's largest* and most diverse gathering of advertising, marketing, public relations and media leaders! Now in its fifth year, Advertising Week DC celebrates the best of the marketing, media and advertising community with a week of networking, professional development and education. The week is a mix of fee-based, VIP, and invitation only events.

*The 2008 Advertising Week DC session attendance topped 4,789.

  • The Greater Washington Initiative conducted a 2007 study that found the DC marketing communication workforce has grown four times faster than the national average. 
  • Today, there are nearly 36,000 commercial advertising and marketing professionals in Greater Washington.  By 2014, the region is expected to have more than 39,000 advertising and marketing knowledge workers.
  • Per capita, the Greater Washington area has the most advertising and marketing professionals—higher even than San Francisco , New York , Los Angeles , Boston , and Chicago .
